Entering its third season tonight, Rookie Blue, is by no means a rookie TV show. Case in point: it wastes no time firing off a whole new set of obstacles that will lay the groundwork for a whole new season of drama. And, oh yeah, there’s a guest appearance by William Shatner as a belligerent drunk driver who punches Dov in the face! Not a bad way to start things off.
While the original crew of officers aren’t technically “rookies” anymore, the show introduces us tonight to an indisputable newbie, Peter Mooney as Nick Collins.
“It was daunting, first day was daunting for sure,” Peter told ET Canada about stepping onto the Rookie Blue set as the new guy.
As Nick, he will create some pretty interesting drama between Chris and Gail, with whom he seems to have a past and she doesn’t seem too happy to see him on her turf.
As for Andy and Sam, they’re still trying to work things out while Andy, still on suspension, faces a tribunal.
And, in what will surely be a huge, emotionally-charged storyline this season, one of the officers will kill someone in the line of duty.
The action begins tonight on Global at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
