Canadian director David Cronenberg, has penned his debut novel, Consumed, slated for a fall 2014 release. In a press release from his publisher, Hamish Hamilton, the book was described as a story revolving around two lovers who are also media types thriving on, “the yellow journalism of the social-media age and their obsession with cameras and technology.”
Sounds like the director is staying true to his provocative style!
“The two nomadic freelancers, in pursuit of sensation and depravity, encounter each other only in airport hotels and browser windows but find themselves on a surreal, parallel journey into a bizarre global conspiracy,”; the release goes on to say.
This isn’t the only project on deck for the director: his new film, Maps to the Stars, will debut this May at the Cannes International Film Festival.
