Bradley Cooper will make his directorial debut with “A Star Is Born”, starring Lady Gaga. The remake has just been given the green light by Warner Bros.
Lady Gaga will play the naive singer who ascends to fame while her lover and mentor sees his star falling. Cooper will star alongside Lady Gaga, presumably in the role of her mentor. The studio announced that Lady Gaga will compose new songs for the film, which she’ll also perform.
“My favourite part is that we get to have an exchange with one another, because I’m the music expert and he’s the acting expert,” the singer told 97.1 AMP FM about working with Cooper.
Adding, “so we get to sit with each other and teach each other things.” Watch more below.
This will mark the fourth time “A Star Has Born” has been made into a feature film.
Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson starred in the 1976 version which earned Streisand the Academy Award for Best Song for “Evergreen”. The 1954 version featured Judy Garland and James Mason in the lead roles, earning them both Oscar nominations for their performances.
Cooper’s take on “A Star Is Born” is scheduled to be released next year.
