Jimmy Kimmel brought the funny to this year’s Emmy awards, spoofing a number of big pop culture shows.
The Emmy hosts opening monologue included a parody of “The People v. O.J. Simpson”, with help from: the “Modern Family” gang, “Late Late” host James Corden and the “Veep” presidential escort driven by Jeb Bush.
Perhaps the biggest surprise of Kimmel’s monologue was an appearance of the aforementioned Jeb Bush. The former Governor of Florida addressed the cameo on Twitter:
The journey from start to end would make for a great novel: Jimmy Kimmel arrives in O.J. Simpson’s famed white bronco and hitchhikes with the cast of “Modern Family”. He then performs a little “Carpool Karoake” with James Corden before being interrupted by Bush: “I’m in between jobs,” the former GOP candidate said. Finally, Kimmel makes it to Microsoft Theatre with help from “Game of Thrones” Emilia Clarke and her dragon — breathing fire on Ryan Seacreast along the way.
