“Saturday Night Live” alum Jay Pharoah stopped by “Windy City Live” recently where the comedian unleashed a parade of pitch-perfect impressions for the daytime show.
Pharaoh, who got cut from the “SNL” lineup this season, hit the show with incredible impressions of Barack Obama, Eddie Murphy, Jay Z, Kevin Hart and Denzel Washington, which may just send ripples of regret through former boss Lorne Michaels’s mind.
But die-hard fans of Pharoah won’t be without the comedian for long! It was announced last month that the comic quickly landed his own Showtime pilot alongside fellow SNL alum Taran Killam.
Pharoah is set to take on the lead role in a half-hour comedy that focuses on an African American comedian struggling to maintain his principles as he becomes loved by a white, mainstream audience. The as-yet-untitled show sees Jamie Foxx and Tom Kapinos (“Californication”) take on the role of executive producers. Foxx will also star as a recurring character.
