The Weeknd Unveils New Album Cover After Wiping Instagram Account

New music is apparently on the way from The Weeknd, who created some serious social media buzz earlier this week — not for something he posted, but for deleting every post on his official Instagram account.

Many began attributing this to the release of his highly anticipated new album, which he apparently confirmed by tweeting a photo of the cover for the new album, titled “Starboy”.

The 26-year-old Canadian singer has been dropping cryptic hints on Twitter, first on September 2 and then again on September 15, leading many to theorize the album’s release will be this fall:

He described Ethiopian sounds, to V Manas the key to his upcoming project: “Ethiopian music was the music I grew up on… ‘The Hills’ was the first time you actually heard the Ethiopian language in my music. It will definitely be key on this next record.”

And nothing is going to stop him: “My purpose is to make exciting music and I feel like I’ll be doing that for the rest of my life, so there’s no pressure… Nothing is stopping me from doing what I love to do.”

To say the Weeknd’s fans are excited about the imminent arrival of his new album is an understatement, judging from the enraptured tweets that followed:
