Angelina Jolie has filed for divorce from Brad Pitt, citing irreconcilable differences and is asking for physical custody of the couple’s six children.
A new report from TMZ says the 41-year-old actress filed legal documents on Monday and only wants husband Pitt to have joint legal custody of their six children, while she would have physical custody. Under these alleged conditions, the “World War Z” actor would only have visitation rights to see his children.
Angelina’s attorney Robert Offer confirms the filing, saying in a statement: “This decision was made for the health of the family. She will not be commenting, and asks that the family be given its privacy at this time.”
Sources allegedly tell TMZ that Jolie is very upset with Pitt’s parenting methods. The actress is reportedly not asking for spousal support.
The couple’s relationship first sparked in 2004 on the set of “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” and the two wed in 2014.
According to the report, Jolie lists September 15, 2016 as the date of separation.
