Leah Remini’s expected new series on the Church of Scientology has been picked up by A&E.
The reality series is expected to drop in early 2017, as much of the footage has already been shot. Sources reportedly told The Hollywood Reporter that Remini had been filming the series over the summer.
Remini’s past with the controversial religion will be explored on the show, as well as her 2013 departure and the affect Scientology has had on the family of other church members. The 46-year-old “King of Queens” actress also wrote a 2015 best seller on the topic called “Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology”.
A&E is familiar with buzzy reality shows, as they experienced big success with “Duck Dynasty”.
