People magazine is giving readers the inside scoop on Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s shocking split.
The magazine is sharing “the real story on why [Jolie] left,” in their latest issue hitting newsstands on Friday.
People claims that after “months of mounting tension” Jolie “sat down, talked to Brad and offered to file [for divorce] together…Angelina did what she felt she needed to do,” a source close to the actress revealed.
An insider also goes on to reveal that Jolie grew unfulfilled with her life alongside Pitt as her involvement with the United Nations expanded. “She seemed troubled and almost depressed. Angelina said she was just bored. It seems she had been looking for a new life for a while and that Brad just doesn’t fit in,” the source told the magazine about Jolie earlier this year.
Sources also shoot down rampant rumours of an affair between Pitt and his “Allied” co-star Marion Cotillard, insisting that “it is unfortunate if anybody tries to introduce negativity into what is already a very difficult and painful situation.”
Meanwhile, a source close to Pitt’s camp added that “he will always love her and wants to find a way to resolve this amicably, for the sake of their kids.”
“They ultimately will try to find a dignified way to move forward,” the Pitt source concluded.
As “Brangelina” comes to an end, ET Canada spoke to a celebrity image expert about if Pitt and Jolie can be as strong as solo brands as they were as a couple.
