Adele has had enough of men spreading their legs on busy public transportation.
While performing her sixth night at Madison Square Garden on Thursday, the “Hello” singer made a friendly jab at manspreaders, who are known for sitting with their legs wide apart on buses and trains, and prohibiting other passengers from sitting down.
Though the pop sensation admitted she stopped taking public transit as of approximately four years ago, she joked that when she did take the subway, she would spread her legs out wide to make a statement. Looking towards the men in the room, she proclaimed, “Close your legs, men.”
The problem of manspreading became an actual cause for concern in New York City in 2014 when the Metropolitan Transportation Authority launched an ad campaign to stop the annoying habit. In 2015, two men were reportedly arrested on a New York City metro after taking part in the widely known phenomenon.
