A few months ago, Beyonce posted a letter of admiration to first lady Michelle Obama on her Tumblr. The new mom has now recorded a video reciting the very same letter – calling Mrs. Obama “the ultimate example of a truly strong African American woman,” in a video for the Obama-Biden 2012 election campaign.
“She is a caring mother, she’s a loving wife, while at the same time she is the First Lady!!” Beyonce says. “No matter the pressure, and the stress of being under the microscope, she’s humble, loving and sincere.”
The superstars adds: “Michelle, thank you so much for every single thing you do for us. I am proud to have my daughter grow up in a world where she has people like you to look up to.”
The First Lady has made no qualms about returning the mutual admiration, responding on Twitter to the letter back in April: “Thank you for the beautiful letter and for being a role model who kids everywhere can look up to.”
The following month, Mrs. Obama took her daughters Sasha, and Malia to a Beyonce concert, saying, “If I had some gift, I’d be Beyonce… I’d be some great singer.”
