Following the high-profile divorce filing by Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt will not be attending the premiere of his new film “Voyage Of Time” this week.
The 52-year-old actor will skip the Wednesday screening of the documentary by legendary filmmaker Terrence Malick (“Tree Of Life”). Pitt serves as a narrator of the film.
On Tuesday, Pitt released a statement saying that he doesn’t wish to take the focus away from the new film with his personal life.
“Terrence’s ‘Voyage of Time’ is an incredibly beautiful and unique experiential IMAX film for children and families chronicling the birth of time,” his statement reads. “I’m very grateful to be part of such a fascinating and educational project, but I’m currently focused on my family situation and don’t want to distract attention away from this extraordinary film, which I encourage everyone to see.”
Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt on September 19. Neither Jolie nor Pitt have appeared in public since news of their split was revealed.
Producers behind “Voyage Of Time” voiced their support of Pitt’s decision to skip the premiere.
