Shawn Mendes appeared on yesterday’s edition of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”, and the Canadian musical phenom couldn’t help but show off his very first tattoo, of a stylized guitar.
“I had this idea for like a year before I got the tattoo,” Mendes said, explaining the tat’s significance to his hometown of Toronto. “It’s the woods here and a reflection on water, a sound wave connecting to the city, being Toronto. Actually, the sound wave is my parents and my sister saying ‘I love you,’ so it’s that connection between home, work, and family.”
Ellen also asked the 18-year-old singer-songwriter about selling out New York’s Madison Square Garden, and he admitted it was a bit overwhelming. “Madison Square Garden was just crazy,” he said, while the pair also reminisced about playing ping pong against DeGeneres. Watch:
