Thursday’s edition of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” promises to be an unusual one, perhaps the most unusual episode ever, given that for the first time the host won’t be Ellen DeGeneres — but Miley Cyrus.
“Obviously, I’m not Ellen. I am Miley Cyrus, how’s it going everybody?” says Cyrus in her monologue after coming in like a wrecking ball with some Ellen-style dance moves to explain that she’s filling in for DeGeneres, who’s apparently feeling under the weather.
“I know all of you came to see Ellen so I’m gonna do my best to make you very happy,” says Cyrus to the studio audience. “I’m dressed like her, I smell like her, just before I came out here I actually kissed a girl so, uh, thank you.”
She continued, demonstrating the comedy chops that made Disney zillions on “Hannah Montana”.
“I’ll admit I’m a little bit nervous because I’ve never hosted a show with my clothes on before, so this is so weird,” she quips. “Don’t worry you guys, Ellen will be fine, but she just isn’t feeling well so she’s asked me to fill in and of course, I said yes for my girl Ellen. And I gave her a bunch of Molly to make her feel better. It’s working.”
Tune in tomorrow to see Cyrus interview guests Sarah Jessica Parker (discussing her upcoming HBO comedy “Divorce”) and “Frozen” star Idina Menzel. Watch:
