Britney Spears sent millennials into a tailspin when she publicly declared her interest in collaborating with ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake back in August, and the “SexyBack” singer only fuelled the fire when he revealed he’d also be up for a duet with his ex. But don’t bust out your bedazzled Canadian tuxedo just yet, because in a new interview, Spears seemed to backpedal a bit on the idea.
“One of my friends asked me if I would do a song with [Timberlake], and I said ‘yeah’,” the “Make Me” singer explained to ITV’s Rylan Clark-Neal. “So they took it as, I really wanted to do it — and that would be fine, but yeah, I think it’s just a lot of talk.”
While the Grammy winner may not be rushing to hit the studio with her former flame after all, she doesn’t entirely rule it out, adding, “You never know.”
Spears has been hot on the promotional trail in support of her latest album, “Glory”, including a performance at the iHeart Music Festival in Las Vegas. Get a taste of her set below!
