Ben Affleck reveals the secret to his long-lasting friendship with Matt Damon.
“You know Matt and I, we just we have good sex. That’s what keeps it fresh,” the actor jokes with ET Canada’s Rick Campanelli. While Affleck was all smiles while promoting “The Accountant”, his new thriller is no laughing matter.
Affleck stars as Christian Wollf, an autistic savant with a day job as a forensic accountant who uncooks the books for a long-list of criminals. For Affleck, it’s a role that required some research to get into the mind-space of his character.
“The most interesting aspect was the research I did with the people who are on the autism spectrum and the contributions they made and the insight I got into their life. And how excited they were to have a character who’s a protagonist in the movie who was on the spectrum that was really satisfying,” he tells ET Canada.
Still, Affleck admits the math requirements to play an accountant are a little beyond his grasp.
“I can’t do elaborate math. We made the movie out of… but it was a lot of fun pretending,” he says. “I can help my kids out with math homework, but my kids are in fifth grade so that doesn’t require Einstein-level mathematics.”
“The Accountant” lands in theatres on October 14.
