Colleen Ballinger, who is best known by her YouTube name Miranda Sings, recently revealed she is getting a divorce from her husband, singer Joshua Evans, after just over one year of marriage.
With her new Netflix series “Haters Back Off”, set to debut on October 14, the comedian and actress shared a tearful, nearly 12-minute video to her YouTube channel, where she explained her decision to split from her husband, who has frequently made appearances with her online.
“I want to start off by saying Joshua is a wonderful man and I am so in love with him,” she said. “This has nothing to do with ‘He’s a bad person’ or ‘He did something horrible to me’ or anything like that. He’s a good person and I love him.”
Ballinger went on, explaining, “We have always had a very rocky relationship since the beginning. We’ve always butted heads. We’ve always fought, ever since we met really. It’s never been a perfect relationship.”
In the highly emotional video, which has garnered over 6 million viewers since it was posted on September 30, Ballinger refrains from explaining what exactly went wrong, but notes that the couple kept certain, more difficult parts of their relationship from fans.
Similarly, Evans released his own YouTube video, where he shared his thoughts on the couple’s impending divorce. Both Ballinger and Evans have revealed they wish to take breaks from YouTube during the emotional time.
