A new series based on the international best-selling series of books by Lemony Snicket (aka Daniel Handler) is coming to Netflix.
The new trailer for “Lemony Snicket’s A Series Of Unfortunate Events”, which dropped on Tuesday, teases the tragedy of the Baudelaire orphans whose evil Count Olaf will stop at nothing in order to get his gnarled hands on their inheritance. The trio of siblings must outsmart the tricky Count Olaf at every turn as they seek the answers to their parents’ mysterious death.
Tony Award and Emmy-winning actor Neil Patrick Harris will star as Count Olaf in the eight-episode series which comes to the streaming service on January 13, but don’t expect to catch a peek at him in the teaser trailer.
The first look at “Lemony Snicket’s A Series Of Unfortunate Events” comes courtesy of Patrick Warburton, who stars as the titular author, warning viewers of the harrowing tale of the Baudelaire orphans as he walks through an empty film set.
“Please don’t make the same mistake that Netflix has,” he warns in the trailer. “Look away before this dire tale is even filmed, and avoid the cruel whimsy and whimsical cruelty of what’s to come.”
