“Jane the Virgin” is rumoured to be introducing a game-changing (and possibly name-changing) storyline in the upcoming third season when the title character will finally lose her virginity in what will no doubt be one of the most anticipated episodes yet.
ET Canada’s Matte Babel visited the show’s Los Angeles set and asked star Gina Rodriguez if the rumours are true — and whether the show will have to change its title when “Jane the Virgin” returns with its third season on Monday, October 17.
“You know, I think it’s going to have to happen!” Rodriguez tells us of the episode, which is directed by none other than Eva Longoria of “Desperate Housewives” fame. “I was floored when I read the script,” says Longoria. “I was like, ‘Oh my God, why did they have to give this one to me?’”
According to Rodriguez, Longoria directed one amazing episode. “She is so bada** she just knocks it all out of the park!” she exclaims. “She has a lot of leadership,” adds co-star Jaime Camil of Longoria’s directing prowess, adding, “she knows what she wants, she’s very on point!”
“It’s a star-packed juicy episode that people are going to eat up!” dishes Longoria, while Rodriguez adds: “I think everybody is going to laugh and cry and if you’re drinking something it’s going to come up, if you’re eating something it might go through your nostrils!”
Meanwhile, if they decided to reboot “Desperate Housewives”, would Longoria ever agree to return to her role? “Yeah!! Of course! Who wouldn’t do it?” she says enthusiastically. “Oh my God, I love Gabby Solis. I miss Gabby Solis!”
You can catch more from the set of “Jane the Virgin” on tonight’s edition of ET Canada, airing at 7:30 p.m. ET/PT on Global.
