Martha Stewart has appeared in numerous TV shows over the year, ranging from her iconic “Martha Stewart Living” to her short-lived version of “The Apprentice”, but it’s safe to say her latest television project promises to be her strangest: “Martha & Snoop’s Dinner Party”, a new talk show for VH1 that finds the domestic diva teaming up with rapper Snoop Dogg in an pairing that is both offbeat and inspired.
ET Canada sat down with Stewart in Toronto, where she was making a special appearance for Hudson’s Bay to promote her line of housewares and lifestyle items, and she divulged some details about the upcoming series.
“We filmed 10 episodes in five days with two days of preparation!” she marvels of the fast pace of filming. “There’s spontanaeity, the guest list came together also sort of at the last minute, we have very fun guests,” she adds.
The show’s guest list is eclectic, to say the least, ranging from Bella Thorne to Fifty Cent, which is just what we’d expect from a collaboration between the founder of Martha Stewart Omnimedia and the guy who brought us “Gin and Juice”.
As for her association with the venerable Canadian retailer, Stewart explains why she believes her products connect with consumers. “I think that people are really looking for a little bit of whimsy, a little bit of cleverness but they’re still looking for things that have a good life and are affordable,” she says.
You can catch the full interview with Martha Stewart on tonight’s edition of ET Canada, airing at 7:30 p.m. ET/PT on Global.
