Marvel Studios wants to reward fans for their heroic acts, with “Dr. Strange” star Benedict Cumberbatch launching a new initiative in which the studio will donate $5 (up to a million dollars) to the Save the Children charity each time a fan uploads a photo of themselves costumed as a Marvel superhero to MarvelStudiosHeroActs.com.
Cumberbatch announced the new charity initiative in a special YouTube video.
“We filmed Doctor Strange in Nepal and several other countries and everywhere we went in the world, I met Marvel fans,” Cumberbatch says in the video. “But I also saw kids who are facing enormous challenges, challenges that no one should ever have to face. With the help of our fans, Hero Acts can change that.” Watch:
