The oldest castaway was sent home this week when Paul Wachter, 52, watched his torch get snuffed after a stunning blindside as what he thought was a solid six-person alliance suddenly evaporated into thin air.
Paul clashed with some of his tribemates, and it game back to bite him in the butt, even though he said he was “150 per cent” confident that his alliance was solid. So what happened?
In this week’s episode of “Post Tribal”, Paul looks back at the stunning blindside that led to Jeff Probst snuffing his torch.
“You guys know all about blindsides, and when you’re talking about a blindside of this calibre, as you well know, as soon as you feel comfortable on ‘Survivor’, you’re out,” Paul explains to Erin and Parvati.
“I was very comfortable and I was 100 per cent confident that our six-person alliance was very tight,” he adds. “The last thing I thought was gonna happen was Jess was gonna flip and she flipped. She got the girls to flip and for some crazy reason they decided to pull that rabbit out of the hat and get me out.”
At the end of the day, Paul admits he can only blame himself. “It was me and my big mouth that got me in trouble and she took what I said literally — and she knows better — but for some reason, I don’t know why they headed in that direction but by the time I figured it out I was already on my way home.”
