The Twitter backlash has proven to be too much for Lauren Jauregui to handle.
The Fifth Harmony singer announced that she would be quitting the social network on Wednesday, telling fans and trolls that she needed to take “a break from this sh**.”
“Y’all can have your fun and make whatever assumptions about my character you want,” she continued.
The decision comes after Jauregui drew criticism for shedding light on little-known U.S. presidential candidate Dr. Jill Stein, leader of the Green Party.
“Some of you are so mean damn..like yeah, I didn’t know about Jill..and I shared it with people and then like all of this crazy shit happened,” she added. “I wait for the day this sh** doesn’t affect me as much as it does, goodnight.”
Jauregui’s social media hiatus, however, was short-lived as she returned to the social network on Thursday before taking the stage with Fifth Harmony in Glasgow. “Excited for Glasgow tonightttt,” she shared with her fans.
And judging by her frequent tweeting, Jauregui appears to be back on Twitter for good.
