Kelly Clarkson On The Challenges Behind Writing Her First Children’s Book

She was the first “American Idol” winner and has sold over 21-million albums, now, Kelly Clarkson is adding another achievement to her list: children’s author.

The “Piece By Piece” singer took a break from the stage to write her first-ever children’s book, “River Rose And The Magical Lullaby”.  For Clarkson, 34, writing a book brought new challenges.

“Writing a children’s book, I found, is very different as far as the cadence and the meter so that was challenging,” she tells ET Canada.  Clarkson didn’t have to look far for inspiration.  Her daughter, 2-year-old River Rose, is a big fan of mom’s new book and music.

“Now at this point she’s heard it a lot. She’ll ask for it and then she’ll put her hand in my face and say bye,” Clarkson laughs.  “She plays my music all the time. She just loves ‘Heartbeat song’.”
