Canada’s music-phenom broke the record, which stood for 32 years, getting nods for: Artist of the Year, Favourite Album, Favourite Rap Artist and Favourite R&B song, among others. Surprisingly enough, Drake has never won an AMA award.

His associate Rihanna placed second in total nominations with seven, while Adele and fellow Canadian Justin Bieber each snagged five. The show airs live from the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles on November 20 at 8 p.m. Eastern.
