After accusing Donald Trump of doing cocaine following Sunday’s presidential debate in which he sniffled throughout the heated broadcast, Carrie Fisher is dialling back her comments with the press.
When a Twitter user asked the “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” actress whether she thought Trump was a cocaine user, she answered, “I’m an expert and absolutely.”
Fisher has been open about her own drug use with the media, having previously admitted to using cocaine while filming “Star Wars: Episode V — The Empire Strikes Back”.
Fisher would later tell Vulture magazine that she was simply joking about Trump’s possible drug use. “I don’t [think he was doing cocaine],” she said this week. “I don’t know because every day something weirder comes out about him, and more awful.”
“I think [his brother’s death] scared him,” she said, referring to Trump’s late brother who was an alcoholic. “He says he doesn’t smoke, he doesn’t drink, he doesn’t do drugs, so he generally tells the whole truth to shock you. I know something about this, so if he did coke, he would want you to know.”
As for Trump’s constant sniffles, the actress blamed it on “nerves.”
Vermont Governor Howard Dean also accused the U.S. presidential hopeful of drug use following the first debate last month. “Notice Trump sniffling all the time. Coke user?” he asked via Twitter.
