Justin Timberlake “Can’t Stop the Feeling”, and apparently he can’t prevent people from purchasing his latest megahit single, which has pulled ahead to become the biggest-selling song of 2016 so far.
JT’s offering from the “Trolls” soundtrack made its debut in May, and has so far sold a whopping 2.16 million units, according to Billboard (as reported by Entertainment Weekly).
As it turns out, Timberlake owes the single’s success to his 18-month-old son with wife Jessica Biel, Silas.
“[Fatherhod] changes everything,” he said in a recent interview with “Today”. “I would have never written a song like ‘Can’t Stop The Feeling.’”
Fans can rejoice that we’ll be hearing some new music from the star, who told EW that he’s already back in the studio working on a new album — although he warns it may take awhile.
“I’ve been in and out of the studio, obviously, with some of my more frequent – and less frequent – collaborators,” he explained. “I guess I’m resigned to the fact that I’m a tortoise when it comes to this process. I can’t imagine doing it any other way. I just feel like it’s so important to never have the cart before the horse when it comes to making a record.”
