Blue Rodeo Announce New Album, ‘1000 Arms’

Nearly 30 years after the release of their debut album, 1987’s ‘Outskirts’, Blue Rodeo are back with their 15th studio set — not to mention a cross-Canada tour!

The band are gearing up for the October 28 release of their latest album, ‘1000 Arms,’ which sees them experiment with their sound. “I guess it came from Greg [Keelor], this notion that we would be more pop,” frontman Jim Cuddy tells ET Canada. “Like the end of the ’70s: [Elvis] Costello, Nick Lowe, that sort of feeling.”

To support the album, the guys are set to perform 30 concerts across 23 Canadian cities, beginning in Thunder Bay on January 11 — something that Keelor says will require a lot of discipline.

“When you have to sing every night, you have to look after your voice,” he explains. “Everything in my world is geared towards keeping my voice in shape. That means being healthy, lots of oxygen in the lungs, and trying to keep the head as clean as possible. So that’s a bit of a challenge.”
