Leave it to Sir Paul McCartney to surprise 300 very lucky fans in the middle of the California desert!
On Thursday afternoon, the surprise show was announced on McCartney’s website and fans quickly raced to the venue in Joshua Tree, Pappy’s & Harriet’s, to line up for tickets, which were priced at a steal of $50.
According to TMZ, McCartney went on at 8:15 p.m. that night and played until 10 p.m.. The set-list was filled with fan favourites and hits, including “A Hard Days Night”, “Lady Madonna”, “Hey Jude” and “Band on the Run.”
The intimate concert was a warm-up for the music icon – McCartney is set to perform again this Saturday for the second weekend of the Desert Trip Festival, alongside other legendary acts like Neil Young, The Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan.
