Lorde Donates $10,000 To A Deserving New Zealand Family

Lorde has decided to help out a fellow New Zealander who suffers from pica as she and her family have been forced to leave their Auckland home due to leakage in the dwelling.

The family of 10-year-old Rheegan are close to losing their home if they do not raise $250,000 for repairs.

Rheegan’s parents, Devora Busch and Richard Barry had decided to set up a crowdfunding page, where the Grammy-winning singer chose to donate a generous sum of money.

Lorde, who made the donation under her real name Ella Yelich-O’Connor, gave a huge boost to the fundraising campaign to the tune of $10,000.

“Sending best wishes and love to you and your parents, Rhee,” Lorde wrote alongside her generous donation.

“I know her music but I’m completely stunned to know how she found it and what a freakishly small world it is,” Busch told the New Zealand Herald. “There’s no personal connection so I’m very humbled that she would think of us.”

Earlier this year, Lorde also made a large donation to a children’s charity in New Zealand, offering a gift of $20,000 to their fundraising efforts.
