Laura Benanti’s Melania Trump Returns To ‘Late Show’

Laura Benanti’s impersonation of Melania Trump is making a comeback to “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert”, with a classic debate between Colbert and Benanti’s Melania on The Donald “grabbing women by the Billy Bush.”

Colbert might have trouble securing a Trump on the show, but he got the next best thing on Tuesday night with Benanti’s physically uncanny impression of Melania and cringe-worthy references to Billy Bush.

The material is of course based on Melania’s recent Anderson Cooper interview addressing her husband’s lewd 2005 recording, with Trump’s wife shifting the blame to former “Access Hollywood” personality Bush. Colbert quips: “Now I know why they’re on a bus, it’s easier to throw Billy [Bush] underneath it.”

“The Late Show” host spoke to Benanti via “satellite” about The Donald’s “locker room talk.” The impersonator of the potential First Lady chalks it up to just that: “I did not know this, but when American men gather to sport, they always brag about grabbing women by the Billy Bush.”

The “Supergirl” star first donned her Melania Trump outfit in July, following the latter’s “original” speech at the Republican National Convention.

“The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET/PT on Global TV.
