After being arrested for criminal trespassing while she was “peacefully” protesting the Dakota Access Pipeline, Shailene Woodley has entered a plea of “not guilty,” ET Canada can confirm.
“The Fault in Our Stars” actress was also charged with Engaging in a Riot, for which she also entered a plea of “not guilty.”
The actress was arrested on October 11 after participating in a protest against the Dakota Access Pipeline, where she was taken to jail alongside 26 other participants.
Woodley broadcast her arrest on Facebook Live, and broke her silence after posting bail with a cryptic Instagram post.
The actress was not present at the time of the plea, and Morton County court officials confirm that her attorney, Alexander Reichert, has entered the plea on her behalf.
She also submitted a waiver of appearance so she would not have to be physically present.
There is no court date set as of yet.
