John Lithgow On His Transformation Into Winston Churchill For ‘The Crown’

Next week brings the premiere of “The Crown”, a new Netflix drama based on the younger days of Queen Elizabeth II (Claire Foy) as she and her new husband Prince Philip (Matt Smith of “Doctor Who” fame) are thrust onto the world stage due to the ailing health (and eventual death) of her father, King George VI (Jared Harris, “Mad Men”).

Also starring in this anticipated series is John Lithgow in the role of Sir Winston Churchill, and this featurette finds the Emmy-winning Oscar nominee opening up about the approach he took to playing an iconic historical figure.
