Jay Z is not only a well respected rapper, but an admired businessman in the music industry – and now he reportedly plans to make a big move involving the late, legendary Prince.
TMZ recently learned that Jay Z is interested in purchasing the rights to all of Prince’s unreleased music. Apparently, the Roc Nation founder met with the late singer’s sister Tyka and her husband Maurice Phillips a few weeks ago.
Sources reportedly told TMZ the Brooklyn-native offered around $40 million to buy the unreleased records.
It is believed that even if Tyka agrees, each of Prince’s siblings and the trust managing the “Purple Rain” singer’s estate must sign-off on the purchase.
Jay Z is thought to be the frontrunner for streaming rights to Prince’s unreleased music, but some other big players are reportedly in the running.
