Bill Cosby has arrived for a pivotal hearing involving the sexual-assault charges against him.
Cosby, 79, is in Pennsylvania seeking a dismissal in what is expected to be a two-day trial. For Cosby’s potential victims, this hearing means everything. Depending on the outcome, more than a dozen accusers may be able to testify against the man in his upcoming criminal trial.
The former-beloved comedian faces a criminal court next June for the alleged sexual assault of Andrea Constand in 2004. If found guilty, he could spend a decade in jail and be forced to pay millions in fines.
Potential evidence to be reviewed at the two-day hearing includes a taped phone conversation between the actor and Constand’s mother, as well as a 2005 deposition in the civil case of Andrea Constand v. Cosby.
