It’s a rare performer who is so recognizable that he or she only needs a single name, and two of these one-name artists have come out as massive fans of each other as Adele and Beyonce express their mutual admiration in the December issue of Vanity Fair.
“When Adele sings you can hear that it’s coming from an unfiltered honesty and purity,” Beyonce tells VF of Adele. “She creates songs that go deep and expose pain and vulnerability with her soulful voice. She takes you places other artists don’t go to anymore — the way they did in the ‘70s.”
Adds Queen Bey: “It is so easy to talk to her and be around her. She’s funny as hell and her comebacks are legendary. The most beautiful thing about Adele is that she has her priorities straight. She is a gracious woman and the most humble human being I’ve ever met.”
The feeling is clearly mutual, with Adele singing the praises of the former Destiny’s Child member, revealing she’s been a fan since she was 11 years old. “She’s my Michael Jackson,” Adele says of Beyonce.
This isn’t the first time Adele has publicly fangirled over Beyonce. In an Instagram post from the spring, Adele is pictured hugging a cardboard cutout of Beyonce and professing her love for “Lemonade”.
“I’m not late on this I’ve just been speechless,” Adele writes in the caption. “Beyonce is the most inspiring person I’ve ever had the pleasure of worshipping. Her talent, beauty, grace and work ethic are all in a league of their own. I appreciate you so much! Thank god for Beyonce X.”
