Julia Louis-Dreyfus is backing Hillary Clinton and urging young voters to show their support for climate change champions.
The “Veep” star appears in a new video produced by the environmentally-focused NextGen Climate, strongly endorsing Clinton while slamming Donald Trump for his controversial rhetoric on climate change and the environment.
“Hillary Clinton knows that climate change is real,” the “Seinfeld” star says. “She knows its disastrous consequences.”
Louis-Dreyfus directly calls on millennial voters in the youth-oriented video, using her humour to discuss a very serious subject.
“I’m Julia Louis-Dreyfus, your parents’ favourite performer from something called ‘the television,'” she says in the video. “I play a bombastic, woman-hating, narcissistic politician on my show and it’s really super-fun to watch because, let’s face it, I’m extraordinarily talented. But it’s not a reality that any of us really wants.”
“Donald Trump talks a lot about building a wall, his pervy love of Putin and fake colleges he can bankrupt for profit. One thing he doesn’t talk much about is climate change, because he doesn’t believe in it — and because it doesn’t have a grabbable p***,” the Emmy-winning actress says.
Her message doesn’t end at urging American youth to cast their vote for Clinton.
“Voting for Hillary isn’t enough,” she announces. “Senate Republicans have already vowed to obstruct her at every turn,” calling the move “Congressional C***blocking,” before inviting viewers to tag her on Twitter in pictures of their sandwiches.
