Jimmy Kimmel gets to the bottom of the rumour a Christian Grey replacement could be in the works, during “Fifty Shades Of Grey” star Jamie Dornan’s appearance on his show Thursday night.
“Supposedly, I heard that Ian Somerhalder is replacing you in that,” Kimmel asked the Belfast-born actor. “Do you know anything about that? Is that true?”
“No,” Dornan shrugs in response. “I don’t know.”
“That would be really hard for them to do, considering we shot both of the movies. That’s an expensive mistake, I’ll put it that way. But good luck to him – he’ll be great!” Dornan adds with a smile.
The 34-year-old Dornan dropped by “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” to talk about his other acting gig on the fan-favourite UK crime drama “The Fall”. For Dornan, it’s easy to tell the difference between his “Fifty Shades” fans and those that love the BBC series in which he plays a serial killer.
“There’s a sort of energy in the eyes of a ‘Fifty Shades’ fan that the fans of ‘The Fall’ just don’t possess. It’s like a hunger, and you can sort of see it and smell it,” he tells Kimmel. “If it’s in a pack, it’s terrifying.” The actor says the hunger from fans comes in “every form you can imagine.”
“Fifty Shades Darker” opens in theatres on February 10, 2017. Fans will have to wait until 2018 to see the final chapter come to a close in “Fifty Shades Freed”.
