With emotions still running high from a tumultuous election day in the United States, John Legend and Alicia Keys are kicking off the weekend with two emotionally charged music videos.
Legend, who teased his loved-up release earlier this week, debuted the feel-good video for his new single, “Love Me Now”.
Director Nabil Elderkin captured loving moments between couples as he travelled the globe to locations symbolic of strength and courage, including the memorial at Orlando’s Pulse Nightclub, North Dakota’s Standing Rock Reservation and Northern Iraq’s Domiz Refugee Camp, among others.
With resilience as the video’s connecting theme, Chrissy Teigen, who had difficulty conceiving her first child, joins her husband and daughter Luna Simone for even more emotional scenes together.
The single is off Legend’s upcoming album “Darkness and Light”, out December 2.
Alicia Keys, meanwhile, debuted her video for “Blended Family (What You Do For Love)”, the touching single from her newly-released album, “HERE”.
Letting cameras in on her own “blended family” with producer Swizz Beatz, the video captures candid moments of the couple’s large family bonding over games before footage of other diverse families is pieced together to celebrate “the power of love.”
“My new song ‘Blended Family (What You Do For Love)’ is inspired by my family’s personal journey to cultivate deeper understanding, compassion, support, and love. Something to me that I hope we all together in this world remember right now,” says Keys. “To me, the word ‘family’ has no singular definition and the modern family is made up of all kinds of beautiful people of different walks of life willing to put love first.”
