Chris Martin took to the stage to honour the late Leonard Cohen Friday.
During Coldplay’s concert at the London Palladium, Martin shared a solo acoustic rendition of Cohen’s 1967 song “Suzanne”.
After finishing his tribute, Martin told the crowd that he was “sending my love to Mr. Leonard Cohen for those amazing songs. You changed my life.”
Martin joins others like Lana Del Rey and Rufus Wainwright in paying tribute to the late singer/songwriter after news of his passing was announced Thursday, Nov. 10 on Facebook.
“It is with profound sorrow we report that legendary poet, songwriter and artist, Leonard Cohen has passed away,” reads the post. “We have lost one of music’s most revered and prolific visionaries. A memorial will take place in Los Angeles at a later date. The family requests privacy during their time of grief.”
