Carrie Fisher is opening up about having an affair with “Star Wars” co-star Harrison Ford in her new book.
Fisher tells People, in her third memoir The Princess Diarist, the then-19-year-old actress and 34-year-old married father of two had a drunken night together on the “Star Wars” set. It began when Ford offered to drive Fisher home because she was “wine-sodden” and the two ended up in bed together.
In Fisher’s detailed telling of the affair, she claims Ford was a bad kisser but she forgave him because “he really was handsome.” She admits to relentlessly trying to make him love her and even dreamed that he would ask her to get married, hoping for a gold band with diamonds with their celebrity couple moniker, “Carrison,” that she came up with, inscribed inside.
But that is where the details stop, as she says she can’t remember much of their short three-month affair due to the lasting impact of Ford’s “preferred brand of pot.”
In a statement exclusively to People, Fisher wants to make it clear that she never said Harrison Ford was bad in bed. “Any reports claiming I said Harrison was bad in bed are utterly false,” she said, adding, “Perhaps people should read the book before they write their stories.”
Fisher went on to say that she remembers their time together affectionately, “I was so inexperienced but I trusted something about him. He was kind.”
With the final word on the matter, Fisher tweeted to clarify any misconceptions.
