Metallica unplugged! Jimmy Fallon treated Tonight Show viewers to a very special musical cover with Metallica and The Roots on Wednesday night.
They performed the heavy metal band’s 1991 hit “Enter Sandman” using only classroom instruments.
Metallica’s lead singer, James Hetfield, rocked out on the vocals while also playing a colorful, small horn. Drummer Lars Ulrich banged on a tiny bongo drum.
The entire group wore Metallica, Tonight Show, and Roots T-shirts and looked like they were having a blast on the acoustic rendition.
In the past, the late night host has tried out the popular covers with superstars like Adele, Mariah Carey, Idina Menzel, and Christina Aguilera.
