As any parent will confirm, teenagers can be a handful — even if that parent happens to be Madonna.
In Madonna’s case, her son with ex-husband Guy Ritchie, Rocco Ritchie, has felt the strong arm of the law after being arrested for marijuana possession in London, with TMZ reporting the bust occurred two months ago.
As TMZ points out, the 16-year-old was nabbed by London police for possession of cannabis on Sept. 28, reportedly after ticking off neighbours in the upscale neighbourhood where he lives with his dad, with cops called after somebody saw Rocco and a friend sitting on a wall smoking what appeared to be weed.
When police arrived on the scene, reports TMZ, Rocco reportedly tossed something in the air, but a subsequent search revealed a small amount of marijuana in his backpack, as well as traces on his clothing.
Rocco has already been sentenced, and attended a drug education class.
No word yet on how this may impact the custody agreement recently reached between his parents, with Madonna arguing that her ex was too permissive.
Following news of Rocco’s arrest, Madonna issued a statement to Associated Press, calling the incident “a family matter,” adding: “I love my son very much. I will do whatever I can to give him the support that he needs, and I ask that you respect our privacy at this time.”
Meanwhile, mama Madonna also posted a video on Instagram, of her other son, David, riding a horse, with David Bowie’s “Heroes” as the soundtrack. In a cryptic caption, she writes: “We are just gonna ride this week out. We can Beat them forever and ever!!! We can All Be Heroes.”
This was followed, on American Thanksgiving, with a post in which she shares photos of her four children — Lourdes, Rocco, David Banda and Mercy — writing: “Reasons To Be Thankful.”
