Mariah Carey is keeping her chin up amid her highly publicized split from Australian billionaire James Packer.
Star of the upcoming docu-series “Mariah’s World”, Carey visits “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” opening up about the healing process. DeGeneres notes how serious her relationship was: “You had a highly publicized relationship and you were engaged and you were trying on wedding dresses in the docu-series, we see the behind the scenes of that, which is pretty personal. And now you’re not together anymore.”
“Now it’s a whole friggen thing,” the five-time Grammy winning singer quips. But she says she’s holding up okay: “I think I’m doing well… everything happens for a reason, things are the way they are.”
But upon further questioning, Carey is clearly ready to move on from the conversation. “It’s kind of difficult to talk about it at the moment,” she says. “So I’m just going to compliment you on these decorations once again because they are fabulous and I’m here…”
Carey and ex-fiance Packer got engaged late-January, but called things off almost 10 months later.
