It’s the double-denim moment that has since lived on as one of the most horrific red carpet fails in Hollywood history!
This week, Justin Timberlake reflected on the denim-on-denim look he sported while hitting the 2001 American Music Awards alongside then-girlfriend Britney Spears. “If you wear denim-on-denim, it will get documented. You know what, I don’t think I could even bring that back,” Timberlake said while reminiscing about his ’NSync days on Australia’s “The Project”. “I’m going to go out on a limb and say if it’s worn properly, denim-on-denim could be [brought back].”
But who could possibly do the daring look justice today? According to Timberlake, “not Donald Trump,” the singer quipped.
This week marked the 15th anniversary of Timberlake and Spears’ unforgettable AMAs appearance, which channelled the classic Canadian tuxedo and drew the ire of nearly every fashion critic on the planet.
