Celebrities are refusing to accept the American Presidential election result and have since begun urging their fans to put their money and willpower behind an official recount.
As security computer data hints at the possibility of a cyber hack, stars are pushing for a manual recount of paper ballots in states like Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
Laverne Cox, Mark Ruffalo, Debra Messing, Rosie O’Donnell, Michael Moore and many others are encouraging their fans to get behind the Green Party’s Jill Stein and her crusade for a recount.
“After a divisive and painful presidential race, in which foreign agents hacked into party databases, private email servers, and voter databases in certain states, many Americans are wondering if our election results are reliable,” Stein’s website reads. “That’s why the unexpected results of the election and reported anomalies need to be investigated before the 2016 presidential election is certified. We deserve elections we can trust.”
Since it’s launch, the crowdfunded campaign has raised over $3 million.
“I just donated to #Recount2016 and to help ensure election integrity,” Messing tweeted on Thursday.
Moore meanwhile, wrote, “yes. Absolutely. Stop the Kumbaya. Fight. Resist. Recount.”
