Susan Sarandon may have recently celebrated her 70th birthday, but you’d never know it from her sexy, sultry appearance in the new video for “Fire”, the latest from French DJ duo Justice.
In the new video, Sarandon is seen welding (an apparent “Flashdance” throwback) before joining Justice members Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay in a vintage blue convertible, which does not look unlike the one she and Geena Davis drove in “Thelma and Louise”.
Unlike her character’s fate in the 1991 film, however, Sarandon and the Justice men drive off into the sunset, not off a cliff.
“On a hot summer afternoon, Gaspard and I were in Xavier’s kitchen, collectively daydreaming about washing a car,” explains the video’s director, Pascal Teixera, in a statement, reports Entertainment Weekly.
“The year we like for car design, the make, where that could take place, how much soap, the mood, the sun, and there should be a woman to go cruising with, an iconic mix of cool, allure and strength. Susan Sarandon of course!” he added. “And then a couple months later we’re in the desert, with the car and a lot of soap, and by some weird miracle there she is, even more amazing than we had fantasized her to be, ready to go for a drive.”
