A who’s who of Hollywood celebrities have banded together to implore America’s Congress to stand up to the incoming presidential administration of Donald Trump should they negatively impact marginalized groups, contending that more than half of Americans oppose Trump’s policies.
Featuring an array of political activistis and Hollywood celebrities — including Rosie Perez, Keegan Michael Key, Sally Field, Steve Buscemi, Jeffrey Wright, Lea DeLaria and others — the video is intended to send viewers to a petition addressed to Congress and the House of Representatives.
Conservatives have become outraged about the video, including former “Love Connection” host Chuck Woolery, who has no love for the celebrities who participated in the video and spoke his mind about it on a recent appearance on Fox News’ “Fox and Friends”.
In fact, the former game show host asked dismissively why Americans would take political advice from people who “pretend to be other people for a living.” (Of course, the same argument could be made about a former game show host.)
“They still don’t believe in the electoral college because they still don’t understand it,” Woolery said of the liberal celebs. “We are a Constitutional Republic, not a democracy.”
In recent years, Woolery has been a vocal opponent of the Obama administration and one of the few celebrities to throw support behind Donald Trump.
