Elle Fanning is all about leaving a little mystery when it comes to sharing anecdotes about her personal life.
Posing on the cover of Elle UK‘s February issue, on sale Jan. 10, the 18-year-old star of the highly anticipated drama “20th Century Women”, gives her best advice to readers regarding restricting social media presence, avoiding exes and finding support from close friends.
When asked why she stays away from Twitter and Facebook, the “Trumbo” star says, “You have to leave a little mystery. With old movie stars, all you saw were rare interviews where they only shared what they wanted to – that’s what made them so interesting.”
Fanning admits to the magazine that when it comes to avoiding exes, it’s especially hard “when an ex is only a text away.” She says, “Back in the day they had to work up the courage to call on the phone, talk to your parents and when you broke up you didn’t see them again. But now, between Snapchat and Instagram, you can see everything – especially them with a new partner.”
And here's our #FebruaryELLE subscriber cover featuring Actress Elle Fanning (@ellefanning), all about how to be happy in 2017. For this special issue we asked readers to submit their life dilemmas for 18-year-old Elle to answer, and it turns out she was born to be an Agony Aunt. Speaking about the best advice she’s ever been given, the young Hollywood starlet says that Nicole Kidman once told her: “Find your tribe and they’ll always be behind you.” She admits, “I’m not someone that has a lot of friends. I see people who have many friends and get really jealous. I have a good core of three or four friends who are really close to me.”
