Octavia Spencer was more than happy to mention her unmentionables.
The “Hidden Figures” star rolled into “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” to detail just how much fun she had at the 2017 Golden Globes. Spencer, 46, was giddy about her Sunday evening: “I don’t think I’ve ever been to an awards show and had as much fun as I did this time,” she told DeGeneres.
And the reason for that was quite simple: “I chose to wear a tuxedo, and in doing that, I was able to be freer.” For those wondering exactly what Spencer meant by “freer,” she was quick to elaborate: “Less underwear. A lot less underwear,” Spencer clarified.
DeGeneres and her live audience weren’t the first people Spencer shared this news with. The one-time Golden Globe winner and recent nominee revealed she couldn’t help but tell Casey Affleck about her lack of underwear.
Spencer says the “Manchester by the Sea” actor commented on how “radiant” the actress looked at the Golden Globes. So of course she had to confide in him as to why she was so happy: “You know why I’m happy? I’m not wearing all that underwear!” she admitted to that night’s winner for Best Actor in a Drama.
DeGeneres even managed to capture the moment it happened on air and Spencer squealed when spotting the footage: “Yes! That’s it!” she giggled.
